These statues were used as funerary offerings. This statue appears to be playing for the deceased in the after-life. The harpist reflects the same preference for simple geometric shapes and large flat planes as the female figures.

I selected this sculpture because I think that they way it flows is very interesting. I also think that the idea of this type of funerary offering is intriguing.
