Menkaure’s pose is rigidly frontal and emotionless in the pharonic pose. This husband and wife show no other sign of affection or emotion and look not at each other, but out into space to portray the power of Menkaure.

I chose this piece because I think that it shows what the culture was like then. As a ruler, emotion was frowned upon because it showed weakness.
