Third Style Wall Painting
-
Villa of Agrippa Postumus
-
Compared to the second style roman wall paintings, the third style has an overall flat appearance, and abandons the realistic architectural elements and open vistas. This style contains very thin and unrealistic columns that frame the central image. This also closes up the walls making a sort of picture gallery effect.

I chose this piece because it is so different from the first and second styles. It is much more simplistic.
