  • Fowling scene from the Tomb of Nebamun

  • British Museum, London

  • Nebamun was a deceased nobleman, whose official title was “scribe and counter of grain”. Here he is shown standing in his boat, flushing birds from a papyrus swamp. He is shown striding forward and vigorously swinging his throwing stick. He is hunting in this image, accompanied by his wife and daughter. The composite view of this fresco on dry plaster was very prominent in Egypt.

  • I chose this piece because to me it just looks Egyptian. The style is one in its own. It also tells a narrative story, which I enjoy.
